Germany, as the incoming chair of the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) and as chair of the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI) ) is organizing an«International Conference on Agricultural GHG Emissions and Food Security – Connecting research to policy and practice» under the umbrella of FACCE JPI and GRA, with the participation of CCAFS. The high level international research outreach conference will take place in Berlin from September 10th to 13th 2018 and is hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and supported by the Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries (Thünen Institute). We expect around 300 participants for this event.
The organization will be as follows

– Stakeholder Conference – 11 September (afternoon) and 12 September (all day)

The outcomes of the scientific event will be presented within the stakeholder conference. The aim of the conference is to promote a multi-stakeholder dialogue between researchers, policymakers, farmers and industry representatives in order to identify further mitigation research opportunities and future activities and research priorities to be addressed at national, EU and international levels. The outcome of the conference should feed into ongoing debates and emerging challenges concerning the contribution of agriculture to climate change mitigation.
